This year were traveling to the snow covered sisters to see my sister. It’s the first Christmas with a toddler so naturally I packed the claymation Rudolf movies, popcorn, a gingerbread house kit, his tiny mug (an espresso mug) & this glorious recipe (I got it from my friend Amber Smith) which is DAIRY FREE y’all! Whoot! No way is my kiddo missing out on hot coco with candy canes this holiday. Keep in mind the sugar is a recommendation…you can technically add to taste.
1 to 1.5 Cups Cane Sugar
1 Cup Plane Coco Powder
1 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Bring water, coco & sugar to a boil storing continually. Keep storing for 3 minutes…I’ve yet to do this without getting burned by splatter. If it gets close to boiling over turn firm keep. Just. Keep. Stirring. Once done let it cool to room temp & add the vanilla. Store this in the fridge. To use, add 1 tablespoon (ish) to any milk you like!
It’s a great gift to dairy free buddies too. A simple paper circle, pens & puffy paint can updo a regular jar.
